Today I am going to talk about an antique-grade camera, which can be said to be antique, for me, because it is my first SLR camera.
The 40D uses 10.1 effective megapixels, APS-C CMOS, and uses Canon’s latest DIGIC III digital image engine. The nine cross-shaped focus points and a continuous shooting speed of 6.5 frames per second give the 40D a greater potential for high-speed response than its predecessor. The EOS 40D’s top line is quite similar to the EOS 30D, while the EOS 5D has no built-in overhead flash, and the top line is more rounded. Turned to the back of the machine, it is immediately attracted to the EOS 40D’s 3-inch LCD screen, and includes a number of buttons such as MENU, which are moved above or below the screen. Please note that the addition of an “AF-ON” button in the upper right corner of the EOS 40D will enhance the choice of starting AF.
LiveView Instant Preview is the first Olympus to be used on the digital SLR body, allowing users to enjoy the convenience of similar DC composition, and also save the purchase cost of the right angle viewfinder, which is convenient for special angle framing. Press the “SET” button in the center of the shuttle jog dial to turn on the instant preview. At this time, the reflector will rise and the CMOS will be powered on for live view. The LCD can choose to display grid lines for easy composition. However, during the instant preview viewing, the camera will perform automatic metering, but the lens should be manually focused.
In general, the Canon 40d is an old machine that lags behind most SLRs now. I am still using it, but it is not so frequent.
As all of my friends know that I have 11 years of photography experience. My camera is like my loved one, my brother, I don’t like to sell it or never use it for a second time because I bought a new one, so I have several cameras but often use them in turn. Even I have many different camera brands’ cameras, I have to say that my favorite one is Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II.
This is my favorite camera, It accompanied me through my university time in China.
This retro-style E-M1 is designed with aluminum-magnesium alloy. Almost the entire body is covered with function keys and turntables. Even the front of the fuselage has preset function keys, depth-of-field preview keys and flash sync jacks. The user completes the shooting settings faster. The top shutter button has a turntable 丶 movie recording button 丶 color creation function button 丶 zoom out dial 丶 mode dial 丶 preset function button 丶 HDR / film mode button 丶 focus / metering mode button and switch button, more special It is the mode dial that adds a lock button for unlocking, and does not need to rotate one side to change the mode setting. In order to take care of the user’s long-term camera, the back of the machine and the position of the handle are also rubberized, and the handle of the E-M1 is also thickened to increase the comfort of the hand, mimicking the hand of the SLR, but also the overall shape. Become a mix of vintage and modern, I hope that Olympus can design a better looking model in the future! In terms of interface, E-M1 uses Olympus high-order non-reverse operation, and it is very convenient to set on the shooting interface.
E-M1 is designed with aluminum-magnesium alloy body to achieve dust-proof, waterproof and cold-resistant function. With comfortable handlebars, the solid feel is the same as that of ordinary SLR. The lightweight body is more suitable for long-term use. For photography, it is the time-contested user, the E-M1 button turntables definitely help them speed up the operation. However, for users who are accustomed to one-handed operation settings, the reconfigured button positions take some time to adapt. It is worth mentioning that the rearranged turntable position makes the shooting smoother, the tightness is moderate, it is not too easy to push, and it is not too difficult to rotate. In addition, if the fuselage is used with some long lenses, there will still be a feeling of heavy head and tail, which makes the balance feel a little worse.
Wi-Fi function Although we know that the E-M1 is faster when it starts Wi-Fi, we still appreciate the Wi-Fi control and transmission that Olympus has added to it. First, the camera will display the QR Code on the Wi-Fi startup screen. After the phone scans, enter the password to connect the camera. Next, download the Olympus Image Share program from the Apple Store or Play Store. After launching the program, you will find it provides four functions: Control, Transfer, Photo Editing and Adding Photographs. We can use the following interface to control the camera to shoot in P / A / S / M or iAuto mode, in addition to the shutter 丶 aperture 丶 exposure value 丶 sensitivity 丶 white balance 丶 continuous shooting and touch focus settings, etc. The number of photos stored in the memory card and the focus mode will be displayed!

Okay now I am going to look some Parameter configuration.
The maximum aperture of the black card 3 is 1.8-2.8, and the focal length is 24-70. The large aperture of the measured 1.8 is limited to 24mm, which is constant at 2.8 after about 32mm, and the minimum aperture is 11. For daily use, the telephoto end of 2.8 can provide a good blur, the wide-angle end of 1.8 can also cope with low light environment, the focal length is enough to meet the daily shooting needs.
Battery life
The battery capacity is 1240. The official introduction is 320, and the personal experience is only 200. You need to bring a spare battery for one day, but you can use the charging treasure to charge, so you can still guarantee the continuous power during the tour.
Sony provides some application applets for extra charges. These applets have their own suitable scenes to meet special shooting needs, such as smooth reflection for water-surface scenes, reflection or fogging effects; time-lapse shooting is Take photos at regular intervals and automatically compose a small video for a certain period of time; and use the mobile phone as a remote control to see the live image on the phone and zoom, suitable for self-portrait or party photo. No longer have to worry about the short hand. There are still a lot of small programs, so I won’t introduce them one by one.
In terms of personal use, a large aperture can provide background blur, and the overall sharpness of a small aperture is acceptable. Of course, the above conclusions are too subjective, and there is no original picture, no control group and rigorous picture test, just the personal experience in the process of use.
